LMB bite is picking up. Watermelon flukes fished with a small split shot off main points along with shad colored crank baits.

Anyone know what the water temps have been like on LBJ this week? Also, tomorrow would be my first time out on LBJ in years...has grass recovered in any areas? Worth spending time looking for it, or is the lake so baren that it would be waste of time looking for it? Of course, any general tips appreciated. I am planning to launch by the dam. Thanks in advance!

Fished last weekend. Water was 53-57. Algae is awful. There is very little grass and it is so shallow that it was pointless in 53 degree water. I had a 30+ lb sack trying to lock on beds the day before the storm a couple weeks back. I'm sure they are going to get up there as soon as its 60 degrees.

Yep...fished TTZ last week. First time out on LBJ in a few months. Fished shallow and deep and limited success. I did win $250 gas cash bucks on a drawing so at least it wasn't a total strikeout. The algae is always there in LBJ but seems like it's floating more at this time of year than before. I'll be back out there this weekend. Let's go get em Gillom!

Debating whether I want to go back to LBJ or hit Buchanan to practice for upcoming tournaments. Not sure I can fish TTZ in April but there is a TFL on Buchanan on the 13th. Temps should be right.
