Enjoyed reading what others use. I’ve been using sufix 832 20# in neon lime color. I may have to try some of the other suggestions now.

I use braid but it can be a pain in the butt. The reasons I like it are sensitivity, strength to pull out of snags, and livescope visibility. The reason I hate it are the wind knots.

I use braid for every pole, except my dock shooters. 12lb braid is good enough, in the creeks, up against the bank, in shallow water, with small jigs, or floating a cork rig. 20 lb braid works good in heavy brush and logjambs, up shallow, without a leader. 30lb works really good on longer poles, and on the lake, where wind knots tend to be a problem. In clearer water and deeper water fishing scenarios, where a leader is warranted, the 30lb is my go to choice, with a 15lb polymer leader...rig is strong enough to dislodge most jigs when hung up, and wind knots are basically eliminated in fairly windy conditions.

I have used most of the brands of braid, and frankly like most of them. I prefer a braid that is smooth (tightly stranded), that contain many small strands, versus a few larger strands, as it is easier on your guides. All of the current braid offerings are superior to what you could obtain just several years ago.

Hope this information helps.

I use 10 lb braid with a 7 lb floro leader. If I'm in lots of brush I'll skip the leader.
