Toward the end of the season there wasn't Andy Dalton looking just as good as Dak ever did?

The guy is not a quarterback who's going to win a super bowl. That's just the way it is. And as long as he's the starting quarterback for the cowboys they will be a 500 club.

I believe the Cowboys could win just as many games with Dalton as the QB because they would have tons of money to keep players and also sign some big free agents, if they put together a dominant defense there is no doubt in my mind that they could be very successful. The Cowboys are really in a tough spot, I really do hope they get a deal done with Dak, the other route would likely be very painful, but oh would it be fun to talk about.

I agree with Mark as well that they'll sign him. Jerry is a short-term thinker, which isn't how you win in the NFL. He's like the CEO that looks towards the next quarterly earnings report more than the 5-year and 10-year outlook for the company. Jerry's dilemmai is that he maynot be around in 5-10 years, so what does he care?

Jerry is the poster boy for running the Cowboys like a business with winning games coming in a distant 2nd

All he cares about is the balance sheet. As long as the organization is making money, that’s all he cares about. He gives the illusion that he’ll do anything to win and nothing could be further from the truth. The profitability of the team trumps all else. His legacy is the money machine that he’s built the Cowboys empire into and that he’ll leave to his family.

Very simplistic comment for a complicated guy such as yourself Scags. And in error too IMO.

EVERYONE knows Booger is ego driven. He has to be important to the most important sports franchise in the world. But to remain important the Cowboys need to remain relevant by winning. We see their TV exposure dropping and their fan support waning. Booger wants a winning team and just not winning but winning big.

And this is evident by him firing Jimmah Johnson and also seeking out the Tuna to coach. Ego is Booger and that ego is fed by being important and being important is only attained in the NFL by winning. (NE, GB, Baltimore) If a team wins they get on national TV and thus gain relevance. Look how your darrling NYG opened the season in the national spotlight (usually against Dallas) on those Sunday night games for years. Neither team is relevant anymore just as Philthy has fallen out of national TV favor.

Naw, Jerrah needs to feed that whale sized ego and winning is the only way. Just win, baby!

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Reading thru a Cowboys thread, heavy with Jerry talk, and not having Frank The Tank weigh in makes me sad. This nonsense has gone on long enough! What can I boycott to pressure Frank into returning?

I like ole Frank but sometimes he smeared the jelly on too thick.

This team needs a defense and a new gm. Daks a good guy but his not a 40 million $qb But it's all up to Jerry. How's that worked out? 1995 super bowl champs. You smart guys do the math.
