He has made $36M in his time in the league counting the $31M tag from last season. Add the new tag to that and he will be about $70M. That does not break down to $31M per year average. They got a bargain on him the first 3 years.

I said specifically 2019 through 2022....2 million, 31 million, 37 million, 54 million......that's rounding.....but it's 31 million per season

I'm seeing some cracks in the nut hugger alliance on cowboys pages....I don't know what is the best way to go honestly.....I just don't want to be Philly. I'd nonexclusive tag him and take the two 1st round picks if someone backs up the respect truck for this kiddo

Why disregard those other years though? They cannot tag him a 3rd time so it will have to be a contract salary.

There's probably a lot we don't know or hear. But if the reports are true, I hate the idea of a whiner. It reminds me too much of Deshaun and JJ. You get paid a lot of money to play and a lot of money outside of the game. How much do you really need, especially if a lot of it is guaranteed? I keep thinking that if I really wanted to be with an organization I would be ok with 30 million vs 35 million and let the team spend the money elsewhere. Or negotiate something that you get paid like a rockstar when you bring home the rockstar trophies.

I'm starting to think that this will go south as I think Jerry does not want to be held hostage and might pull a power play.

I'm also of the mindset that if Dak does play under the tag for the final year, that the mindset and commitment just might not be there to really excel.

Who knows, honestly. It sure will be interesting to sit back and watch.

I know when guys like Aikman and Irvin as well NFL personnel experts are saying to pay the guy then perhaps there is something to it. I think Aikman knows a thing about good QBs. Hell even Jimmie said to pay the man.

THIS!!

Dak isn’t long term big money guy....IF JJ signs him to that kind of money, Cowboys will suck for the duration of that contract
