Needed some purple, don't have any purple. So I dyed a small batch with some purple Kool Aid Warmed up the Kool aid a bit, hackle soaked up the purple pretty good

I could have helped you with that! Looks good! Have you let it sit in water after to see if it stays or leaches? Have seen several people talk about using kool aid!

I could have helped you with that! Looks good! Have you let it sit in water after to see if it stays or leaches? Have seen several people talk about using kool aid! Yes Sir I should have just ordered sone of your custom hackle.. I'm a have too try that and see if it Leeches Color

Koolaid works but how colorfast it remains depends on the flavor. Orange and pinks seem to stay without fading too much. It also depends if the feathers have been bleached or if they are completely natural. I used to do a mess of grizzly dry fly hackle for October Caddis patterns back in the day.

I soaked a few piece for 24 hours. Color stayed with just a hint of leaching.
