I didn't read all the comments but if this height is something you need to hit regularly you can buy 2 section scaffolding for about what a ladder would cost

From a former pole vaulter in the 60's and early 70's ... build a landing pit. Something is better than nothing. a pile of sand, leaves, cardboard boxes, break the fall.

Never a C47, the biggest I ever jumped out of was a converted DC-3.

I started with a C46 and a T10 chute, will make a believer out of a guy.

Cost me about 15K in medical bills about 10 years ago. I have a very nice titanium plate and screws holding my right foot together. Ten years later and now arthritis has set in so I may have to to change my screen name to hopalong #2.

That height will get a helicopter (AirEvac) ride here.

You guys paved the way for us Trebor, I never jumped a round chute, although I have seen them used many times.
When I first started recreational jumping in ‘91 my student chutes were first gen squares with round reserves.
When I bought my first rig it had a round reserve also, but I never had to deploy and ride it.
But I had to do a lot of PLF training before I was licensed and I really didn’t want to land that round if I didn’t have to.
Much respect to you early guys and all you that had to jump those older rigs with all the gear and those belly reserves.
Landing and “controlling” those old T10’s had to be a challenge.
The only reserve ride I had was around ‘97-98 after about 90 something jumps and thankfully I had bought an updated rig with a new square reserve.
I was happy to buy my master rigger a nice bottle of whiskey for that reserve ride.

A harness and a proper anchor point is necessary to safely work at any height above 6 foot.
I myself never follow this advice, but my pre work safety log suggests I do.
