A few years back we lost some food during a winter power outage. The outage lasted for 6 days, but the outside temps were only at or below freezing for 2 of those 6 days. At some point, if you don't have power, certain foods go bad. You're exactly the type of person that I'm talking about. "At or below freezing" And you missed the point where I only had 2 days of at or below freezing, the last 4 days of the outage it was in the 40's (nights) to 60's (days) still with no power. Some food will last for several day, some can be thawed and refrozen, some can not. You keep making excuses. Imma keep surviving.

Some of y'all are unaware of federal safety and regulations when it comes to food. WAWI I am shocked you agree with this.
WAWI do you think it would be ok to set food outside your place of business and store it then serve it to the public? While the likely hood of something happening to the food is low, it is not within regulation or protocol. When I am doing food service for the public and I am outside ( say seasoning a product, loading or unloading the pit) and it is outside and open air, I am required to have some covering over the food, if only a popup canopy. Home use dude. You just got added to the space cadet club. Kinda hard to tell what you infer when you're cadet #1 dude. But I forgot you are the master of all knowledge. Carry on with your OT fame and glory.

We have several ice packs in the freezer. I put 4 or 5 in the refrigerator and we were good to go. I keep about 8 frozen gallon jugs in the freezer. I use a lot of ice during hunting season. When I buy bagged ice and it has not thawed I put it in the freezer. I also bag ice from icemaker.

We had a bunch of food that was thawed at the restaurants, it all needed to be cooked or thrown away, we brought in a few employees to cook it all, called the police department and first responders, free catfish and shrimp baskets, had a really good turn out, was happy to do it. As far as having food spoil at home, that is just wrong.

We have a separated garage and I went out there yesterday to put something in it and the smell from the deep freeze and extra fridge was rancid. So I tossed it all as it was thawed. I had a prime rib, brisket, several pork butts and much more

Wife and I put our food in containers and stored it outside in the shade. The amount of food people waste is unreal. I'm sure that's also why the grocery stores were flooded with people loading up on anything they could.

My wife showed me on facebook on the City Of Lewisville page that some lady was going berserk talking about suing and getting everyone fired because her son's meds had to be kept frozen. Oh well, cannot fix stupid, cannot see the forest for all the trees.

Hummm, you all have some things to learn about living with cold weather. Biggest challenge is keeping things from freezing, that's what coolers are for.
