I am thinking Cox will be in the money again during the next stop for the elites @ Pickwick and will be skipping the first day of the first event in the MLF regular season. The poster child for MLF’s most important press release of the year happens to be a happy and successfully Bassmaster Elite angler... go figure.

You'd think a thread about bass you could just enjoy bass and not discuss mlf

Congrats to Jeff Gustafson! I don't understand why he was the only guy fishing this smallmouth pattern, it was obviously good on the first day compared to the largemouth bite.

Also take a look at this map of Gussie's home town and the surrounding area. What a great bunch a water where he grew up.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Keewatin,+Kenora,+ON,+Canada

you can enlarge this map a half dozen clicks and all you see is water.

Did you hear them ask Zona if he ever went up fishing with Gussie. He said hell no, there's to many good lakes you have to drive buy to get up that far.

Can any of you astute anglers spot the differences between the super bowl of fishing and a run of the mill bass tournament? List the most important ones here. Study pictures carefully!

No he can't. Someone from MLF touched his headphones and hid his baseball. He's really mad at them. Lol

Hey Big O Deep-throat..., We had more people standing in line for the port o let at OH Ivie yesterday that what you show in that photo. That weigh in that will have zero suspense looks like mostly BASS workers, support trailer staff, a couple of candle vendors, competitors family, and a few vagrants. I recommend you loosen the ole jaw in the morning on the way it to work, you’ll be busy with the top brass back at the BASS HQ tomorrow.

Is that all you can spot as being different? Come on, what’s missing from the super bowl of bass fishing that is highly visible at the run of the mill fishing tournament? Surely you can see something very important to the sport that is missing, right?

I didn’t think it would be that hard for people to notice!

Can any of you MLF hating individuals understand that those of us that just love fishing don’t care about the differences.

Kennedy's day 2 killed him. Just cant go to the scale with only two fish against these guys.
Maybe a weakness for him. Refuses to fish a "limit hole".
Seen him find schools of pound and a halfers and leave to find better fish, never going back.
Might not have been any limit holes this time as several others in the top 10 didnt have 20 fish either.

Generally, throws big fish baits on big fish patterns. Works out for him often enough I guess.

Oh come on, MLF is always comparing itself to BASS and making bold statements, after all, according to their executives, the Redcrest is the “super bowl of bass fishing”. But that’s besides the point... what very important element to the sport is missing from one of those pictures? It’s highly reflective of the support the organization is or isn’t receiving.

It really isn’t that hard to see!

Do we really need to declare one circuit better than another?
Why would anyone care? (unless you're a Pro on one of those circuits and then you're probably not spending much time on TFF anyway.)
I like watching stroke play golf and I also like match play. Both are golf, just different formats / scoring.

I like fishing.
What tournament circuit some dude from California or Tennessee wants to fish has zero impact on me and is of absolutely zero concern.
If BASS or MLF went away tonight, pretty sure I'd get up tomorrow and not do anything different.

dude, we get it, the BASS weigh in was busy and lot's more people than the take off for MLF. I was more saddened by the pro sponsored by Gaygan Squad baits than the lack of people at take off

And to each their own. If you like MLF then good for you. If you like BASS then good for you. I love to fish. I like both. If you disagree then suck it. roflmao
