Hey Everyone,

This is normally the time of year I focus on pre-spawn yellow perch.

For me, it's been a weird year for them. I would love to hear if others have had luck, but for me, it's been sporadic at best.

Thanks for watching my videos.

I hear they're quite rare though. Would be cooler if we had more as they're neat fish but it's not cold enough! Thanks for sharing the video cheers

Used to fish up in Ontario. One of the lakes we fished, had tons of yellow perch. When you ran into a school of them, you could catch them by the hundreds. We always kept enough for small fish fry. Tasty!

The Charles River around Millis, Massachusetts has them. My kids and I would turn over logs, dig up a few worms, here come the yellow perch. Never ate any.

Catch a ton of them in Eagle Nest Lake, Northern NM. Fun fish to catch and wonderful taste to eat!

Everyone talks about how good walleye are to eat. But most of the people I know who live up north say yellow perch are better than walleye.

Walleye and sauger are members of the perch family. Very similar body structure, except of course perch are smaller. All are easy to fillet and great tasting.
I grew up in Minnesota and still spend summers there.
