What do you have your contract and sensitivity set on? I’m trying to figure out how to tell what I’m looking at!

If I am in shallower wafer and not that far out the side (say 80ft) I will run the Mega freq.. If you are in open water that is deep (say over 30), I switch to 455Khz and it really gets you a better picture. The lower freq is great for the open areas. I will push up the sens to 14'ish then adj the contrast to my liking. As I was instructed, running a little hotter on the sensitivity and adj contrast to my liking really helps allot. The big knob is if you are in shallower water or just need up close detail, then the Mega freq really shows some high detail. If you are having a hard time trying to figure out what your looking at, then something might be affecting the data/ping. I will send you a link of a quick video i made to show my Mom what the side imaging looked like.. CHeck your IM's. Hope this helps

The easiest way to set up the units is to find some structure, then use the arrows button to activate the cursor, this will freeze the screen. Once you have the screen froze then you can adjust all the settings till you have tuned the unit tuned to your liking, do the same with di and 2d
