Fished all three of my days off! Caught a variety of LMB, Bluegill, and yes crappie !. First stop a river. Crappie are spawning. Crappie were caught in 5 to 8 feet of water by tree stumps. Jigs Pink/Yellow was the bait of choice. Second day. Same river. Caught Bluegill by drop offs in 12 to 16 feet of water. Picked up some crappie in 5 to 8 feet of water holding by stick ups. Gulp Alive Leaches and jigs Yellow/pink got the best results. Last day. Fished Lake Mcqueeney and caught six bass in the 3 to 5 pound range. Bass were holding in 10 feet of water off of a hump. Also caught them in a hole 9 feet deep by the Treasure Island Bridge. Bass were caught on crank baits, Chartreuse/Black. Rounding out the catch were a couple of nice Bluegill in the 8 to 9 inch range. My fishing buddies Steve and Jeff fished with me Wednesday and Thursday. Fished by myself on Friday. Fished from both boat and kayak. Always a good thing when you can fish all three of your days off !

Curtis...real nice...do you know what the water temp was ? I would have thought with the colder water temps it would push back the crappie spawn ?

Wow, great job Laker. Only wish I was 10 years younger so I could get back on those river lakes like I use to. Still have my Kayaks but I just can't get in and out of them without falling over.

Water Temperature was 64 degrees on the section of the river we were fishing.


Side Note: We have another place we love to fish during the spawn south of San Antonio. Looks like that one will take place a little later.
