I will be heading to pk in about a week and wanted to check and see how everyone was doing? Not asking for your deepest secrets just a general idea on how the fish are biting. Thanks

A friend and I went yesterday. Didn’t get on the water till 11:00. Loaded up about 3:30. Trolled umbrella rigs for an hour just south of the island towards the dam. Landed 6 stripers under 18”. Found a big school and decided to use slabs. Chartreuse and white 1 oz worked well. Caught fish from the dam to mcCowen in several areas from water depth of 30 to 50 ft. Only 2 were over the 18” minimum length. Also loaded up on sandbass schooled in with the stripers. Somewhere around 80 stripers and 40 sandbass.

Thanks for the update, we’re you trolling with your big motor or trolling motor?

Gborg. Yes sir. Whitney
Yes we were trolling about 3 mph with the outboard.
We both had a great time catching so many. Just frustrating to me not to find any bigger fish. I haven’t been to Whitney in a few years so ran out of time to search the areas I know about from the past. I don’t generally ask for info but I did this time and received true reports of fish from the dam to the north end. I just wasn’t able to pinpoint areas that held larger fish. Time on the water is usually my best results anyway.
Wow. Just reread this. I posted before I had enough coffee this morning. Sorry. I didn’t mean to confuse anyone. We were not at Pk. Lol
