You guys that are running live scope separate from your trolling motor, what have you liked best for mounting the transducer and getting it in the water? Do you make your own mount or is there a brand or company that you really like?

Depends on how fancy you want to get (or spend). The live scanner with remote would be my pick, if budget wasn’t an issue.

Just mount it on your trolling motor for now, there will be one coming out in the future that will be the fix all of all the gimmicks that are out there, and then you will wish you had not bought any of the current ones.

If you bass fish I think On the tm will serve you best. I cant Imagine pointing it and my tm separate and bass fishing.
I always Leave my live on even when I’m not using it and some times that tm will spin on spot lock and I’ll see a fish where I wasn’t casting etc. I truly Believe I would See less if I had To control it separately.
It won’t cost you any extra to try it on the tm first. If I’m going down the bank I step off the tm button and scan around etc.
I think I’ve had my live 4 years now. Or however long ago it came out after I had to wait to get my hands on one.

All aboard marine mount looks like the way to go. Best of both worlds. Your LS transducer is mounted on a separate pole that deploys with your TM, so no second deployment. By a slight adjustment, you can run your transducer separately or along with the movement of the Tm. Seems like their latest model solves everything, whether you bass or crappie fish.

I believe a TM has two ends - the head (at the top out of the water) and the motor (down where the propeller is). I'm not sure where the "motor head" is - seems contradictory.

I have An riptide ulteRRA, I was Told I cant Mount it to the trolling motor heAd I had to look, because I couldn’t remember. They are correct, due to the design on the shaft sliding up and then folding over, the external shaft mount or frame mount will not work. Separate pole for your LS or a really floppy transducer cable, if mounted on the motor foot. (I wrote foot, just so I could get a smarta** response from Flippin.) I believe a TM has two ends - the head (at the top out of the water) and the motor (down where the propeller is). I'm not sure where the "motor head" is - seems contradictory. Your brain is overthinking, since he clearly wrote trolling motor head.

fishingspecialties downrod set up
probably one of the cheapest options...and 100% does what you need and is a pretty good design to boot (breaks away if you hit something to try and prevent transducers bending/breaking.
