Got the call today that the ATF approved 2 more suppressors of mine. I had to drop everything I was doing and pick the babies up. Featured here is a Silencer Co Sparrow on my Ruger Mark IV. This sucker is very quiet. I bought that suppressor the first week of July 2020 to give you a frame of reference for how efficient our federal government is.

Maybe this was just the first day any of the ATF people have worked this year?

Very cool gun!
So run through the total cost, if you don't mind, for your first NFA item versus a follow-on item?

My first Rimfire can was a SilencerCo Spectre II mated to a Ruger Mark III 22/45 Lite. I think we have 3 or 4 22/45 Lite's now with cans to match. They are the most fun of any to shoot and like you said they are quiet!

So run through the total cost, if you don't mind, for your first NFA item versus a follow-on item? Like Zeek said, it’s a $200 federal tax every time you buy or build an NFA item. Buying more NFA items doesn’t change the cost or speed up the process. I’m 9 NFA items in, and they’re all just as slow to get approved as the last one. The particular suppressor shown above was $375 for the unit, $200 federal tax and 8.25% sales tax.

Gotcha - thanks. $575 plus the gun for that setup isn't bad at all. That's a crazy sweet pistol.
