looking or input on new onboard battery charger. Is there a good reason NOT to go with onboard? Just a recreational fisherman.

Existing is a NOCO 4 bank that came with the boat. 2013 year model that has 10 amps per bank. It looks like one bank not working at all.
Planning to replace blue tops that don't seem to hold a charge, not sure if they are original as I am not the original owner. Planning to buy Duracell AGMs as recommended by some on TFF.
Not sure if lithium is for me at this point as I am cheap and not an early adopter of tech.

Other forums seem to like Dual Pro, but the model with delta volt (whatever that is) is about $600.

Suggestions for charger that is good for the money and suitable for AGM?

The "Dual Pro" label is the original recognized name for DeltaVolt manufacturing, who has always made them, I believe.
I have one of those (4 bank, 10A per bank) that was standard in my Ranger setup. I have another boat with a NOCO 3 bank (10A each) that has been no issue.
If I were buying another charger today, I'd opt for the new product series from NOCO that has a mode button for each bank. Their latest top model supports 4 banks @ 10A each. Each bank has a mode button that allows selection for standard wet cell, gel, AGM, and Lithium. This would be an "upgrade ready" option if you were to ever want to move to Lithium. The weight is better than the Deltavolt since it uses electronics to create the charging rail vs. encased transformers. It's still a bit pricey, $406 on Amazon.

Yep, get something lithium capable since that seems like they way we're advancing... Might as well be ready if and when you make the switch... Dan
