Seen where guys were on lake this early afternoon. Main lake water temps 39°F
Water level is 236 (2ft below pool)

Be safe and continue staying warm.

We will pick back up running guide trips in March. Gibbons Creek and Somerville. Whitebass and crappie both locations. PM for more info.

Went out to Granger yesterday. Came in by boat from Taylor Park, ran all the way up past the steps. Few folks out fishing, heard reports of a couple whites being caught. Water clarity in the river was beautiful clear green with visibility close to 3ft. Water level was good. Water temps were 44-45 in most places, air temp 70ish, sunny with a SSW wind at 7-8mph. A bit of ice in some back shaded coves. Wasn't really looking to fish so much as just get out and boat ride this go round. Made the rounds and headed back in. Hope to get back up there soon and get on some fish.

Thanks for the report wasn't sure if those fish already in the river wouldn't have dropped back into the lake. May go check it out tomorrow.

I went by Rocky Creek Park this morning. They are closed until at least Friday for water damage repairs. I expect Yegua Creek Park is the same.

The Dam road is still closed. It's been closed for 7 months now. What a pain.

Lake is 2 foot low. Weather man is predicting rain from Thursday through to the following Tuesday. But only a total predicted rainfall of about 1/2 inch. A good 4 inches in the Yegua sure would be welcome. Double rain dance banana banana

Thanks for the report! Stand by to stand by I guess. Seems like the Steps should be picking up with the warming temps this week.

Been a very long time since I've been on here, or even been up to Somerville and Yegua. Sad to say, it's been a while since I've been fishing for that matter. From what I gather Yegua is a no go. Lake is too low. What about three spillway? Is there access. I read something about the damn road still being closed. Not sure if that means no access to spillway fishing. I'm in Victoria Tx. Don't want to make the trip for nothing. I'm wanting to stay a few days and nights camping and fishing like i used to. Just not sure if that's even do-able or worth a trip. Not much available for a whitebass run this far South Texas. I'm open to any input or suggestions.

Yes, the dam road and spillway are closed. They are not releasing water so there wouldn't be any white bass to catch there anyway.

I called Nails Creek Park yesterday. They said they did reopen the road down to Newman Bottom. I'm sure I'll check it out in the next few days. The Video dude did catch one white bass while crappie fishing so I would guess at least a few very motivated small males have ventured into the creek. I don't have my hopes up though.
