I’ve landed (for now) on this one. Going to put a plug in with an interlock in the service panel. It won’t power my AC units but should power all my non 240 volt stuff. It should also power my welder and RV if needed since it has a 50 amp plug. It’s $500 off if you have their advantage membership.

I can have the generator. There were plenty of them running in my neighborhood last week. Having big propane tanks installed is the part I'm not clear on.

We have the Northern 9000, 7500 surge watts. The problem with northern is no parts available in America. I just ordered a spark plug boot attached to the magnetic part for the fly wheel or whatever you call it and it came from England. You need to take that into account parts availability.

Did you look on Amazon? I have the 7000 and most parts are available on Amazon. Looks like northern buys them from someone else and brands them. I just ordered a carburetor and fuel cut off valve to have on hand.

Those cost $$$. I could do it but decided to go redneck as that is a big number.

Heck for just a little more, buy a miller 250 bobcat EFI, electronic fuel injected. 12,000 kw peak, 10,500 kw running with 50 amp plug in. What I did or do. Ran 30 hours off and on. Buy the dolly and roll it out to the curb and make extra moola on the side.
