Crazy long day but we did get some fish. Heard some bad reports so I was not super confident. These Striper they are so fat and although there are some dying shad there was lots of fresh threads of all sizes in the fish. Also lots of active shad balls on the graph and with a warm trend ahead of us I’m feeling optimistic. Guys came all the way down from South Dakota and have had quite the adventure! I was happy to get them out and get them on some fish. Water temperatures range from 38° all the way up to 44 it seem like the average was on northside 40 to 42 and on the southside 38 to 39. All fish were caught casting in 20 to 30 for the water on very slow reel. Bites light

Chris, on any given day that is an awesome report but after this cold front and fears of a shad kill, this is fantastic news! So glad to hear that you found living swimming bait and fish!

We were out on Wednesday and saw several people fishing the rocks from shore and they had several stripers. We tried fishing from the boat towards the shore with 1 oz JH and 4" chartreuse fluke, but no luck. What depth, weight should we be fishing and using?

We are using a 2oz jig head to keep the bait right in front of the fish and a 5” fluke. Watch your sonar and put your lure where you see the most fish. Last time I it was 30’35 feet...
