So I was a stone mason for 13 years and a metal fabricator for the last 15 years. I made a commitment to stay with my boss till he retires. Well, that day is now 2 months away. Im looking to find a good honest company who appreciates a no b/s hard working employee. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been late in 15 years and have never called in sick. I have children so not looking to work 100 hrs a week. Anyone know a company like that?

Good luck finding a good honest company today. Also loyalty don’t mean chit. No one cares how many times you called in sick or late. You just missed out on extra days you could have spent with your kids and family.

Also, I am not sure if your boss was the owner? If yes, considering buying the company from him and be your own boss. You sound like a hard worker. thumb You remind me of me. smile

I've been thinking of starting my own thing. I have most of the tools already. I am a hard worker. Just been a while since I've looked for a job.

Check with the steamfitter/ pipefitters and sheetmetal union, trade workers are hard to come by these days. The hall will have a list of signatory contractors and you can solicit them for a job. pm me if you have any questions.

If you are a hard worker and loyal as you have been, you'll find something soon. You might be surprised what happens if you hang out your own shingle.

Aren’t you forgetting to thank “someone”? (Hint - A snarky comment is what led to all this learning.)
