So how many ShareLunker Elites have been caught today? 1 or 2? You guys have confused me now. Elites are 13+. Does Burk Senior have 2 over 13, or were you guys calling the 12.4 a sharelunker as well? Lunker class = 8+ Elite class = 10+ Legend class = 13+ Legacy class = 13+ and donated to SAL

To me 13+ is a Sharelunker. Anything under that is a ribbon award.
Saw his son had a 12. That’s still a damn nice fish. Especially when his dad caught a 13 earlier. Bet that’s a day father and son won’t ever forget. Be a cool mount too!

Agree that it would be nice seeing more of those big fish put back. Last time I was at Ivie several years ago when the water level was in the teens, I had a couple of nice fish that weekend. Two fives and a heavy six. And then we talked to a couple of quiet guys that evening at elm creek when there was almost nobody else around. We all were getting ready to leave town. He said he had a 13. Biggest fish of his life. And he put it back. That was pretty awesome. His friend talked a lot more about it than he did.

Their genetics do not change once they reach 13+ pounds. It’s still the same fish and offspring as when it was a 3 pound fish. The fish has likely put millions of eggs into the lake previously, before being caught. The benefit of the SAL offspring is the fry can be stocked to other lakes that need to have gene pool strengthening.

Hopefully the fish was from Azle and was doing her thing with half the lake at an early age
