Got out and pulled boards this morning. Bait and fish were stacked thick out deep. Got bait in 43 ft. First throw hit the sandbass. Second throw hit the bait lotto! Went to the deep end and pulled boards in 55-60 ft through fish and bait stacked up for a mile. Lots of bumps and pecks and the fishing was slow. I caught 2 fish all morning but one of em was a toad! 43” 48 lbs. All that beautiful bait and all he wanted was the tiniest filet of gizzard I’ve ever used. Lol

All in a day's work. Nice fish. Awesome job.

Dang nice fish. That is a ton of bait. Hurts my back just thinking about pulling up that net in 43 feet.

Awesome Job Chris! That is a load of bait brother! And what a toad! I tried to get out today but it was afternoon and the wind was up high. Looked around for bait and saw some up shallow but I think they might have been threads. The birds were on em and what I saw was all 2". I think the reason we aren't seeing much of the kill is because every time one floats up a bird grabs it. Anyway, good job brother. See you out there this weekend...

Apparently my lake is the only one that got a Shad kill! Lol....I saw a ton of dead Shad on the south end of my lake yesterday that had blown up on shore. Why the birds weren’t eating them I have no idea but I saw dead Shad for 100 yards. I saw a few floaters here and there but not many. My brother lives on the lake and he said he saw tons of birds eating dead fish at the edge of the ice sheet that was covering part of the lake up in Lakewood Village. Birds weren’t diving, just standing on the ice sheet out in the lake eating fish. He went and looked yesterday and didn’t see a single dead fish, they had all been cleaned up I guess. I’d say there was definitely a Shad kill in certain parts of my lake. Fishing should be on fire right now with reports of Toad after Toad being caught after the front and I’m just not hearing that. I figured the Shad kill might have something to do with that.

Dang! Didn't see anything like that on Lavon. I hope we can get out this weekend and find a toad or two!

Saturday should be good Tim. Jaxons first soccer game is Saturday at noon so we can’t fish until Sunday when the north front hits and messes up the bite. Jax has Saturday games through mid April so we’ll be fishing Sundays for the next few months. I love watching my son play soccer but I will be praying for a few rain outs I gotta admit...

Fish were pushed out of 35 ft Fredo. My buddies that looked in 35 ft also said it looked like the moon.

Chris, I know exactly what you mean. I love watching the kids play soccer too but I am always thinking about what I might be missing on the water. I got a set of Parks Planer boards waiting to get wet for the first time, a new Bimini that I want to try out in the rain and I just ordered an I Pilot upgrade kit for my trolling motor. Them blues don't have a chance this spring!

I got some reports last night of big stringers of Super Toads being caught Tim. Hope you get into em good! Your gonna love your new toys Amigo! They are going to change the way you fish.
