Got out to Navarro Mills yesterday. On the water at 8:30 and off at 4:00. Water temp was 39.5 at the ramp. It got to about 45 by the time I left. Found fish in all the usual places but didn’t get a bite until 12:30. They wouldn’t even look at it. I finally started tipping my hand tied with Pautzke fireball nibbles. Ended up with 6 fish. That is the toughest bite I’ve experienced at NM. Jig color was black and white. 1/8 oz. Couldn’t get the fish on the stake beds to bite at all. All that were caught were on what appeared to be upright Christmas trees, maybe. Water depth was 17-22. I’m thinking that 39 was a little to cold for any action. Once it got above about 42 it got a little better. I saw some really big fish. After talking to a couple of guys at the ramp, I figure they were carp. These guys didn’t catch anything but saw a bunch of really big carp over at the marina. Tight lines guys. I’ll be giving it another go as soon as the wind allows.
PS: y’all check out Asleep at the Reels YouTube video with Jake from TPWD. He is a biologist and it is a very informative video.

I got mine at Walmart in Midlothian. They are green and they are very slippery! Don’t leave them open to the air as they will dry out pretty fast.
‘Bonz I’m really sold on these. Never saw any difference with any of the other concoctions.

Yup ! I just love these things ! They really are slippery but they are tuff & really stay on your hook. This company makes all kinds of fishing products!I have the Chartreuse (garlic) & considering buying their Pink (shad) next.
