Sprinkler Head Question

Does anyone here know how to turn off a sprinkler head like this? I rotated the top of it counterclockwise and want to make sure that that did it. This isn't at my residence, so I can't turn on the system to check it.

Just what little I know of my own system, Ive never known of a head you could "turn off" . You can dig it up and cap it.

Yeah, after doing some more googling, that seems to be the only way to fix this particular head.

Just what little I know of my own system, Ive never known of a head you could "turn off" . You can dig it up and cap it. It's most likely screwed onto the pipe. Just unscrew it and screw on a cap.

Getting that key into the screw is a mofo. They are always clogged up with dirt. I have about 40 of those heads. They are a pain.
