I give Johnny cash 50/50 he got a lot more famous after he died

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Gotta respect the songwriter (Kris Kristofferson, in this case)...without songwriters, there are no songs.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It wasn't some random words thrown together to try to make it rhyme or whatever and seem meaningful like today's music, it was full sentences written to match the music. You don't get that anymore. Damn good stuff right there.

He had hits in 6 consecutive decades. Definitely famous among country fans.

I got to meet Kristofferson once in 1973. He was appearing at the opening of a new store for a company that I was a district manager for in Dallas. He was singing in the parking lot on the bed of a flat-bed trailer that was the stage for the band. He had just married Rita Coolidge. He introduced this song (Sunday Mornin Comin' Down) and said that it wasn't much of a hit for him until some guy named Cash stole it and had a big hit with it.

Kristofferson has a very interesting background.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
