Since it is so far from point A to point B here in Texas, I thought maybe I could get help on finding out about lakes that will probably be turning on well before the lakes here in North Texas. I am trying to see if you will help me establish a “time pattern” for these lakes - not a specific date, but maybe a month, and “beginning, middle or end” of that month you chose. Of course since I mostly fly fish, catfish are not what I am referring to. And this year we realize that all patterns can be broken by Texas weather.
The lakes I am currently wondering about turn on months are “down south,” so I figure they will turn on earlier in the year. If this is too easy, maybe you can add the “Best Month” as well?
The lakes are: Fayette Sommerville Bastrop Stillhouse
THANKS for participating and HELPING.

Texas...Fayette has been fishing good all winter long so far for bass. Not sure how this last cold snap will affect the bite, but will find out tomorrow. As far as really turning on, late March and April are exceptional for both bass & bluegill.

Unless you know someone Mcqueeney is a "private" lake. Live 10 miles from it and have not been able to fish is for a long, long time.

Anything on Fayette / Bastrop or Sommerville? I see a lot of good things about Sommerville, but am still trying to GET INTO THE BALLPARK of when to go. Fayette County lake is a coal-fired power plant that generates non-stop. The water there is usually warmer than any lake around. The generation schedule for Lake Bastrop is an absolute mystery to me and it is a natural gas fired lake. We went Saturday; the air temperature was 74 degrees and the water was 58. We did not go to the discharge. My BIl went Sunday; he said the water temp was 60. Somerville and Stillhouse Hollow are "cold water" lakes. When they will start to spawn is beyond me.
Be safe, Rayzor ![[Linked Image]](http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/JLedbetter/th_Boatpics036.jpg) 2001 Triton Tx-21/225 Mercury EFI
