Did these today. Turned out to kinda like a pro blue type pattern. Gonna paint a rayburn red OG slim tomorrow and gonna try some matte shad with greens type stuff day after on some JBs and mid diverrs

Tried to post video because i have some blue on the shoulders that you can only see in the light as its moving

not the prettiest...but i like it. Going for a rayburn red craw(the hot craw brighter ones out there since theres tons of takes on the pattern)...that i have in my head would have good flash if I taped off the bottom. I like the look of the bottom just wish it wouldve been a bit more even toward the tail. Im hoping this bait swims like I expect...and if it does i think ill get good quick flash with the taped off bottom, body and top having different tones.

Gonna let it dry so my eyes and gold splatter can dry up and clear coat it tomorrow night. after that ill take some outside pictures with better light and that glossier look.

What do you all think? Would you fish it?

Some post clear coat pics. I know the rayburn red isnt really pretty....but its kinda by design. I was looking for that old school rayburn red craw look...and using the gold as a better flash than it is in the old school patterns. I couldve faded the gold on the bottom....but i taped off the bottom for a hard contrast. I also only taped off the bottom instead of going into the body because im hoping the gold catches a little on the swim....BUT...I hope when it deflects, that bottom narrow strip will just look like something flashing/flaring out and just trigger the hell out of them. Took a pic of the bottom...looks pretty good with the clear.

Not a big fan of megabass at all....well they are good product but definitely over rated and over priced....BUT...they can paint a damn good bait and theres no denying that. Took a cue from their "mat" series to tone down some of these jerks I painted. i really like how it came out. Good change up if I end up in a clearer water spot hopefully. tried to move it around in the pic so you can see no shine...very cool look. Lets see if it gets bit tho 🤔

Very well done. Those should definitely get bit. I'm curious I've never painted lures before, do you have to buy clear ones or do you paint over the original paint?

Thank you!

So the red one is a brand new OG Slim that I sanded and primed....my first bait I repainted. I usually just buy blanks though. Ive been doing this about a year, and have gone through many different blanks. Most all my blanks come from Dinger at this point....and honestly I'd put them up in quality on par with new/current strike king and even other big box brands like berkely. No my vision 110 blanks are not megabass....but they are extrememly close internally, I can get them to suspend with my hardware choices and the finish on them is nice and clean for painting....plus the action is great. So not megabass at all...but if they want a jerrkbait theyll bite the blanks I buy. (

NOW...with that said. A good chunk...and id even say a majority of blanks out there (theres so many being sold nowadays with the direct to consumer we get with places like aliexpress and social media) are not blanks that I would personally paint or fish. I am just doing this for myself....so ALL my baits need to fish well enough where I dont hesitate or think twice tying them on. Im very confident in all the ones in my current line up. I sell al the ones I dislike to weed them out...im picky! LOL

Wow very cool. That's really nice that you can customize all your lures to your liking.

I was under the impression that the Lucky Craft color Aurora Brown was an "Amistad Approved Secret" color [Linked Image]

DUDE.....you nailed it! Thats actually really really close....and probably closer to iron man than rayburn red craw! Now gotta remember exactly what red I used!!! LOL Wish I was selling...cuz "Iron Man Craw" sounds sweet as hell and will definitely catch some fishermen just with that name! LOL

I think a lot of people sleep on browns...because they really dont pop....BUT I feel thats why they get bit! If you can get a good contrast thatll flash while being fished, browns/golds are killer in my opinion! You do need something that will grab the fishes attention while being fished...but the browns also help them blend in at the same time. So to me that just screams NATURAL since most fish down the food chain try to blend in and not stand out....and yea, I think thats why those colors get bit.....and also dont get talked about!

With that said....heres my browns! My take on mat shad. I also did a black back, orange belly I matted out...as well as some straight ghost mat shad and mat emerald shads. Got some lipless im doing in the emerald and black/orange patterns too. Really hoping they all get bit like I think they will 🤔

ive never owned a mat shad so not sure if their belly is like mine....but my bellys are solid white. thats my "flash" and contrast that I hope will grab their attention. Looks like the LC has similar thinking...browns with that holo flash up top...but bare holo/chrome bottom and i think thats the flash for it too. Holo body can def help on sunny days and clear water for more attraction too. I dont wanna spend money on candy paints so havent done any holo bodies...but they do look great just like that LC does

I call this one...."I aint ever seen a perch in my life and hope this is close enough to get bit"

these are going to Idaho, so im gonna matte a couple of them out to try and get a natural look. Im kinda liking it I gotta admit. came out about how I was expecting in my head 🤔
