Lost power early Monday morning and was not restored till late last night. Over 60hrs of no power so I was very concerned about busted pipes. We left all faucets dripping and cabinets open and hoped for the best. We bought this house this past July so we really did not know how well it would do in this storm. Luckiky inside of home with no heat never dropped below 50 degreees. Got off shift this AM and headed home after letting furnace run all night. All faucets working great with hot and cold water and good water pressure.
We are damn thankful for no damage and our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone affected by the storm.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Yep. We weren't without power as long as you, but still concerned about the water pipes after not having water for 26 hours. Mom has had this house 42 years and knows what issues may come up. Thankfully only ever had a frozen water heater pipe several years back. I hope it continues to hold up. Despite it being so old and having the original windows the coldest it got was 48 degrees without the power. The guy that built the house did a good job.

I hope it's soon. They turned water back on for the campus. Now facilities had to go around and heat the buildings. We have steam heat in most, if not all, buildings on campus, so they've been a bit cold, I'm sure.

Good to hear Mark. Been busy helping people with leak solutions for a couple days. A friend helping yesterday came home last night to a flooded new house...

Glad to hear it! So strange how this water pipe thing works. I have one neighbor who had a full house generator and never turned the furnaces off... Still had busted pipes. Other folks like yourself had no power throughout and came out okay.

I feel lucky too. Never a single power outage or a single frozen water line. ....I wonder how thankful I’ll be when I get our electricity bill. Specially with an entire, unplanned week of not working and getting an income. On another positive, I still have last weeks money setting in my wallet since I didn’t go to the bank.

Just found my first water problem. The splitter on one of my outside faucets busted. How lucky was that? Instead of the PVC busting, the brass splitter busted. Counting my blessings so far.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I'm extremely thankful.
had only 1 to 1.5 hrs of power each day from monday to Wednesday. power finally came on for good last night. never lost gas. had hot and cold water the whole time. the house never dipped below 55. and no busted pipes.
i must have put in 80,000 steps in those 3 days from nervously pacing back and worth throughout the house.
