Ha, I played ping pong for the first time in prolly 25 years during this Christmas break. We got our son a ping pong kit that included paddles, balls, and net that clamped to dining table. We put the extender in the table and played it. Worked real well. Dang kid beat me every game. But I was the 2nd best in our family, which is not saying much. J said that the baseball players play ping pong at school about every day before and after practice, in the team room.

Way out of practice now probably couldn’t hit the ball with a bottle.

The neighborhood dads have a ping pong game weekly to drink beer and bs. So far I am undefeated. How serious should I take this weekly “friendly game” ? Depends on what kind of beer you're drinking

I have a table and play a bit. I prefer the pen hold style and get some nasty spin. I spend time learning how to get the desired spin, how to hit so it just grazes the edge and is unplayable. Some wont play with me anymore. I like the butterfly B303CS for a racket. Super gripy and has pips our and pips in side.

Was the new PE coach for the alternate students at local school. No gym available so the roll out the ball and let them play was not available. I got two tables donated by a local business and started a weekly tournament. The main requirement for them to play was that they had to be current on their work in all their subjects. Needless to say the teachers loved me and the kids were more motivated and productive.

I believe the giants of the game refer to it as Table Tennis

Neighborhood chili champion and ping pong champion, I bet all the neighborhood moms think your big man on campus
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

We had a table downstairs in the dental school student lounge along with a Tornado Foosball table and it was occupied almost around the clock. We had a few Asian guys that were really tough to beat but the trash talk was high along with the level of play. It was so much fun. I had an entry level Butterfly paddle and it was fantastic, even after the rubber edges started to let go. Stiga, Butterfly and Killerspin seemed to be the best paddles but that might have changed by now. You should be taking this very seriously and talking plenty of trash!

Played a lot in College with the Asian students. Tried to slip the ole illegal sandpaper paddle by them without saying a word. That went over like a pregnant pole vaulter to say the least.
Smoke on!
