Hopefully this winter storm will kill off some of the salvinia on our lakes!

It will knock it back. But it’s not gone. Will come back stronger usually after this type of freeze. Plus everyone’s boat trailers sitting in a heated shop will put it right back in the lakes

Yes it will come back but these temps will definitely help. Few years back when we had several days of freezing temps, the lakes were in great shape afterwards. And it was nothing compared to this winter storm.

Don't know much about the Salvinia but I hope this artic blast runs the dammed Armadillos back down south from Missouri.

A mixture of salt content in the water is what kept it at bay for years in Caddo even thru the few ice and snow storms in the past. When they fixed all the small leaks it started growing rapidly. The spraying has helped over the years but the lake has also took a huge hit. We probably will never see the pads and grass back again like years ago. I found pics from 2008 where salvania was in them. My 2011 pics are slam full of it again. No one complained then about it! But now over past few years everyone decided by pro fishermen with YouTube channels and pages that wanna start complaining about it. But the fishing is actually pretty dang good at times when it’s bad

Not a chance. Our fire ants will stop that. Armadillos, bobwhite, horny toads gone.

Should be good atleast this year and if they can somehow isolate a little spraying late summer should really help out next year.
