I’ve looked at it and tried it on, but I’d like to hear honest opinions on how it performs in the rain and warmth. I’m looking at the extreme series, not the late season insulated version. Also want to know how wind-proof it is. Anyone that owns and uses it, I’d like to hear some honest feedback before I drop that kind of dough.

In short, it's great. It will keep you dry and warm. I have owned it for a few years. I fish with a friend who has Simms and my stuff stays drier than his.

I have the bibs and jacket that I purchased 5 or 6 years ago. It works great in the rain and keeps the wind off. I purchased the non insulated version, so I can wear them any time.

I love mine. Dry and a great wind block.

I have several sets of Cabela's Guidewear of varying purposes. The two that are my most-used "go-to" sets are:

1) A "lite" version that Cabela's offered before Johnny trashed/banished most of the branded products. They had a model marketed toward southern waters bass fishermen. As a mild to warm weather rainsuit, it's the best I've ever had.
2) A standard (non-insulated) Guidewear rain parka & bib. I didn't get the Extreme when I bought mine. This is really good stuff in my opinion. The sleeve design helps mitigate water running to your elbows, and helps seal out the wind, especially when you are wearing a parka over the bib. While it's not insulated, you can build up quite a buffer of warmth inside that suit. I only feel the wind on my exposed skin. With the breathable Gore-Tex, it's good for cold/windy weather even if you don't think it will rain, and it certainly is your friend if you end up on a wet boat ride.I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I'd suggest you consider a "fluffy" sizing approach so you can wear layers underneath when needed for colder weather, though the suit performs fairly well without layers in milder weather. I have a thin insulated vest I sometimes wear for added warmth without restricting arm movement & range of motion. The sleeve on mine can be cinched tight at the wrist, so a parka that's a bit oversize (to allow the layers without restriction) doesn't cause any functional inconvenience for me.

I had one. I used it year round for several years before it finally wore out. It was well worth the money. I’ve been told their suits today aren’t the same as before so I started shopping also. Few months ago I purchased the Aftco Hydronaut direct from Aftco and that was a mistake. I was able to return the bibs but not the jacket. I used it a few hours therefore they wouldn’t take it back. I sold it for half price. Their tournament sponsorship/advertising got me to make a purchase but once I received it I saw many issues with the entire suit such as a thin mesh material on the back that won’t last long term, a stretchy material in the sleeves attached to thin cheap Velcro, a zipper that was hard to zip, a tiny gap between zipper and the material that would easily allow water when sitting, oversized face flap thats a nuisance when unzipped, and more. I’ll probably try another Cabelas or possibly the Frogg Togg Lifetime Warranty suit. Its supposedly a premium suit but I haven’t seen one yet.

I had the bps 100. Mph and then cabelas guidewear. The guidwear is the best I have ever worn. I too bought the aftco hydronaut and then sold it. I just bought my second set of guidewaer last week. I love it and I especially like the tall option. I am 6’3 and 215 pounds. I got xl tall bibs and I get the 2xl tall jacket just for extra space when I cast. In my opinion they are still the best on the market. Johnny has not messed them up yet.

I’ve had my set of bibs and parka for 15+ years. Awesome stuff. I’m sure 100mph, Simms, and others make great stuff, but the couldn’t come close to the price I got mine for and the years I’ve put on mine.

The best! keeps your very dry.

My guidewear suit is around 8 years old now, the insulated version. Still in great shape. I will admit my forearms will get wet down to elbows during nonstop heavy rains, but it takes a few hours to get there. I wear it almost every trip from November-March.
