To each is own I guess, Men do have the advantage both physically and mentally. If this were not the case, many, many tomboys of the world would be on MLF and BASS elite Tv weekly. Which, would also kill the ratings , watching women fish is about as exciting as watching women play basketball or golf. Now, progressive ESPN would be all over it , just like with Danica, who was over her head every race until she left. Now some gals have done good and won a little money on smaller circuits that is very impressive, but the big time, the Classic ? i Say No way. Soon half of MLF pros will be back at BASS to get their classic win. get their button while all the top sticks are still at MLF. ( swindle, hackney, paulinak etc. ) No woman gonna get close anytime soon fellas, let alone win the classic.

I have 3 daughters, if they wanted to fish i certainly would encourage it. but lets keep it in perspective. They are fragile creatures, competing on the pro bass circuit fishing at a high level ? prob not .

It would be very exceptional. I don’t think we’ll ever see it.

If Melinda Mize ever decides to fish professionally full time, I'd bet alot of money on that woman

55 tournaments 1 Top 30 $2,950 winnings. That’s a lot of not catching a break. Statistically it’s doubtful she ever wins even an Open but you never know. You can make a living in fishing outside of tournament winnings. She has figured that part out. She is giving it a try and living the life she wants so you have to give her that.

Winning a Classic is something special. Some great ones weren’t able to get one. Roland Martin comes to mind.

Winning a Elite is huge. With around 8 tournaments a year and a hundred anglers that’s about one win every 12 years for the average. Many will never win one. Some considered successful tour Anglers such as Swindel haven’t won a Elite.

No reason a woman couldn’t win. Although it’s somewhat physical it’s not a strength or speed event. Also just from number standpoint many fewer women give the tour a try. Lots of men give it a try and aren’t able to win on the tour either.

The guys who get multiple wins on the high level of the tour are special anglers. They have skills, awareness and dedication that’s just at another level. Few get to be the best of the best.

Odds are against it but it’s possible.

If the Martin’s continue to groom Hillary like they have been, I can see her becoming the first woman to win not only multiple elite series events, but classics too. She’s a stick in her own right at her young age... of course, she is privileged and has been handed all the tools and opportunities to become successful.

Yep, and we all know you need to be a world class athlete to fish! 🤔😁[Linked Image]

I am pretty sure Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston haven't either.
