Look in the power and Alumacraft1540 from academy.
What do you think I should power this with? I’m also going to need a trailer. What do y’all think of the Academy Jon Boat trailer.

Thank y’all for your feedback

I owned an alumacraft 14ft from academy for years. It sat on the trailer they sold. A 15hp mercury pushed it 21mph fairly loaded...I would suggest a 25hp with tilt n trim. My friend has a 1648 with a 25 he gets a solid 25-27mph another has same set up with a tilt n trim and gets 30mph. In bad conditions tilt in trim really helps keeps the nose up. I like mercury because their shifting is done with throttle advancement. So much nicer then a paddle shift. Their trailer is alright, I never had any problems with it. When the tire needed to be changed I opted for larger tires amd replaced the lights with led. Solid rig

It is one of the better deals on a jon package.
That boat has 25hp max and I would go with that,
Merc 25 3 cyl will give great fuel economy, if you went with Merc 20 hp 2 cyl you would get ridiculous fuel economy with a very slight performance penalty.

My 14-foot flats skiff(see my post titled Old/New Tin Boat) has a Yamaha 15 4-stroke now, and it'll go 25 with just me, and about 20 with another friend aboard. The 25 should be great for that boat. I really, really, wish I had electric start and tilt'n'trim, but the budget wouldn't allow that. I saw a kit to add electric start to mine for about $300. I'll probably do that eventually. Good luck, IslandJim

If you can afford it, max the HP rating for your boat. In my opinion, underpowered boats are dangerous.

I've had lots of jon boats and its hard to beat a 25 horse on that size boat.
