Early 80's I think, Lake Worth froze allowing locals to drive out on the ice. Some did not fare well . Something like 100 days under freezing, just another day in Minnesota .

Some people in our area said they saw -9, have been lucky and not been apart of any of the rolling blackouts, not sure why!

I hear you SK. Everyone stay safe. Hopefully the worst is behind up. I am praying for all who have suffered any type of loss during this weather event. The Lord Jesus Christ has control.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone......
We're at 6hrs of having power so hopefully it's back on.... There are several in this area that still don't have power and I hope that changes quickly...... Our temps here are a lot higher but are still at freezing ...... Glad we were prepared for being off the power grid and I didn't have to pull my generator out..... Power banks, a propane burner for cooking, groceries, drinking water and blankets helped us tremendously..... More cold temps on the way but hopefully the worst is behind us.....

I feel for everybody who lost power here in Texas. To think I was teed off about been home-bound for the last ten days due to extremely cold weather. No internet service for the last three days made it even worse Didn't know about it until last night when the internet service finally came back on after being down for three days. weather.com says we will be back up in the 50's by Saturday. Hopefully, that will allow the utility companies to get the power back on for all those who are suffering due to power loss in this cold weather.. Now I realize how good I've had it since we did not lose power so at least we are able to stay warm and play computer games to pass the time. But I still miss not being able to go to the lake every day.

Power went out in Morgans Point at 5am Monday after a night of rolling black outs. Power back on 9:20 last night; 64.5 hrs with no power. Have a good wood burning stove in the family room and plenty of wood. Temp stayed at 70 in the main room and 65 in the bed rooms. Saw -1 Tues morning. Coldest I remember here in 83 was 7. As of 9 am this morning, 180 hrs below freezing. And not looking for above freezing till about 11 am tmrw. Ice came Wed last week then snow Sunday night; 6". It's all still here. And more ice and freezing rain since then. Would like to see some of the coves on Belton but it's way to icy to think about driving just to look around. I'm sure all the ponds are frozen over. Couple friends have been breaking ice for the cattle to drink. I've had enough for now.
