Hi Folks,

1st time poster but a long time lurker on TTF and I love the site.

I have a couple of question about the classic this June on Ray Roberts. this is about as close has the Classic has been to Colorado that I can remember and I have never been to one and thinking about setting up plans to come on down for about a week and check it out and Texas while down there

#1 will the expo be open to the public

#2 thinking about hitting fork and hiring a guide after the classic thinking mid week one day between the 14th -17th any ideas on guides, or maybe another lake that might be fishing well that week, my brother and daughter will be fishing also

Thank for any advice

Rich

I heard the expo, weigh in, and launch are open and free to the public.

From everything I’ve heard the expo will be open to the public but of course that’s subject to change.

Fork in June can be tough but the following have really good reputations:

Billy Lawson
James Caldemeyer
Jason Hoffman

Normally all Classic activities are free unless the host city charges for parking or the private lot owners charge. I would think there is still a very real possibility the Expo takes place as well. Admission to Exoo, weigh ins and launches are always free. BASS usually has free shuttles going between all 3 as well.

The expo and weigh in should be held at the same place.
Launch is a good 40 minute drive in low traffic.

Go fish PK, it's not far from RR and fishes better than Fork these days, IMO.

Or Bridgeport. It is only about 45 minutes from Decatur and fishes good.

Go to Hubbard Creek if you like grass. I'm sure one of the great anglers on this forum will take you out.

Make the trip and make memories you wont regret it, you may need 2 full days at the expo to enjoy yourself. I would hire a guide either wed and/or thurs and spend fri/sat at expo and enjoy final weigh-in sunday and drive back monday. Ive been to 2 BMC one in tulsa then next year in Houston enjoyed them both.

Hope you can make it and enjoy yourself and one other thing bring you some extra $$$$ there are some good deals at the expo!
