Why not the butt cheek? Seems like vaccines always to in the arm, and the arm always gest sore. If they did it in the butt cheek wouldn't that just be better?

Butt cheeks hanging out ............... in a room full of 150 people?

Most of them over 75 ???

The arm is easy and acceptable to be exposed in a public clinic full of people waiting in line.

I can’t get the mental image of this method and the drive thru vaccination sites outa my head. Thanks.

Rare but it happens that sometimes a gluteus maximus injection hits the sciatic nerve. I always liked using the side of the hip (ventral gluteal). I've never worked a vaccination line though, been in a few with some folks that I wished had insisted on the hip (at work for our yearly flu shots).

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I worked as an RN for 18 years and probably gave maybe 25 shots and most of them were flu shots to coworkers. If the order says SubQ I gave it with a small needle in a fat area. If it said IM I gave it in the arm. The butt in some people has to much fat to give in the hip. I’ll bet the covid shot directions say inter muscular.

So some medicines must hit a muscle, and some can go into fat?

And Raybob - if the tattoo on their arm was disturbing, what do you expect to find on their butt?
