Posted this in white bass forum also.
Fished above 99 bridge this past Monday and had a really slow day. Fished from the bridge to about a mile past San Miguel trolling rattle traps and Rapala Shad Raps. Only caught 7 white bass. 6 females and one male. I never did mark bait or fish while trolling. As reported before, the river is really low. Bumped a lot of stumps, even got hung up a couple of times and had to "wiggle" off of them. This time last year we got our 50 fish by 11am so I was very surprised by this trip. So now I'm wondering, did I miss the run, or has it not happened yet, or will it not happen up river because of the low flow of the river? Any thoughts?

im gonna wager a combo of lower oxygen, lower flow, and less space have em not pushed in there enmasse like previous. Then again I didnt even sleep at a holiday inn last night so.

Check out OCD fishing on YouTube, seems like he doesn’t do very well most days and he’s a guide.

Last year I caught a ton of whites in the main lake, this year I have caught very few. Might have something to do, with the 3 million people fishing it and keeping what they catch. The crappie don’t seem to be as thick either and the bass fishing???? Well, “it’s on fire”... Such a fricking joke, with yahoos coming from all over America to fish it now, due to all the Youtube guys running their mouths. Hallman said it was tough and hardly caught anything, now he has run his mouth 3 times on podcast saying “how good it was”. Then we have Facebook where hundreds of guys blab about fishing at 59 or at 99. You want to know why fishing sucks? It’s called “the Internet”. Maybe people will eventually learn to shut their mouths, but probably not.
