Hello Texas Fishing Forum! This is Sportsman’s Connection, a publisher that does detailed fishing atlases and guides for regions across the country. We’re about to publish our five-volume set on Texas lakes, rivers, and coastal areas, and have a need for more quality photos.
If you have photos of catches, lakes, rivers, or coastal scenery, or anything else fishing related, we’d love to publish them. If we pick a photo of yours to use, you will get full credit in the text and a free Fishing Atlas of your choice. In order for us to use them, please try to send us high-resolution photos if possible.
Please reply to this post with your photos. If we choose one of yours, we will reach out to you via direct message for your contact info to ship your free book. If we do not choose your photo, you’ll still get 20 percent off a book of your choice. Thanks for your help!
UPDATE: Because of the limitations on photo size and the downsizing that happens when posted to a thread, I will be reaching out to those with photos that are being considered with instructions on how to submit the full size image via email or dropbox. Keep posting to this thread and watch for a direct message from us. Thanks again everyone that has participated so far and submitted photos!

Everyone else, this is your chance to get your fishing pic in a largely distributed publication that will be available at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Academy Sports, Gander Outdoors, Wal-Mart and almost every mom and pop shop/bait shop in Texas. We are still in need of fishing pictures!! We are publishing fishing atlases broken into 5 regions for the state and are still in need of fishing pictures specific to East, West, Hill Country and South TX. We had lots of contributions to the Dallas/Fort Worth area lakes (thank you!).
I've attached a couple sample pages so ya'll can get a sneak peak of what you're contributing to...
A little more night fishing - this time down in Austin, the Carp fishing Mecca here in Texas!
Here's a good one - the State Record Goldfish. As far as I'm aware the 2nd largest in the world. Caught in a pond in Dallas
Best part of Carp fishing? Passing the rod to a kid! Blue helmet caught this beauty
Carp fishing can be super hectic! Going to put a triple take, two quadruples, and even a quintuple below!
Now for some big, native Buffalo. These are such cool fish and not very often caught! First one's out of Austin
This one's out of East Texas
Here's a big, beautiful Common Carp. They're the most popular sportfish in the world and are slowly gaining ground here in the US. This is out of a pond in DFW!
A double take out of a pond in Ft. Worth!
And here's another good one - a special Linear Mirror Koi captured and then recaptured about a year later. Catch and release works!
Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp... https://txmultispecies.imgur.com/
How about a few more? I really love all the following photos Rescuing some Gar from the Trinity during a drought!
Gorgeous Common Carp!
Check out this piggy! Chunky Smallmouth Buffalo
She could barely hold this one!
Photogenic Ghost Carp
My sister with a chunk of a Common!
Her first ever Carp and it's an incredibly beautiful Ghost Carp
To this day the biggest I've seen in person from Grapevine - and still his Personal Best!
Love this photo
A strong release!
A couple bankside shots Lake Lavon during a flood
Exall Lake in Highland Park
Toledo Bend on a cloudy morning

Nice carp but those buffs are awesome. Supremely underrated fish. It's been awhile but used to catch a bunch in the Frio above Choke.
Awesome! I loved your photos as well. Hopefully we all get a few in the book

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated. Zane Grey, Tales of Fishes, 1919
There is a fine line between fishing and floating around like an idiot!! Check out out my YouTube channel El Gato Azul TV https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg0aV-uOxzxKxeqFFfREzKg ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️ Home of little boys holding big catfish! ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Nice blues. Looks like there was some MMA fishing going on in that first pic.
LOL! That’s my 5 yr old First Mate Action Jaxon the catfish warrior. We invited my uncles on the boat to come fish that day and I told Jax we needed to show those boys how serious we are about catfishing. That morning when we were getting ready, he came out of the bathroom with full war paint ready for battle! Love that kid!

I started fishing at night recently, I live in Missouri, not far from Springfield, there is Lake Stockton.
By the way, for a very long time I could not choose a fishing rod until I came across this site https://theoutdoorsman.org/best-trout-fishing-rods/. Since I'm a novice fisherman, I took all the information about fishing from this site as well as from videos on YouTube. I recently caught a trout in this area. I don’t know how she appeared there, they put it there, but I will also add a photo with the caught trout, I caught it during the day.
We finished the first two books that cover Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding area!! I will be direct messaging those that contributed photos that made it in the first two books to get addresses for your free copies. We have 3 more books in the works (Hill country/South, East TX and West TX) so there is still an opportunity to get photos featured in those three so keep submitting!!
