Its gonna bother us more than the fish. They are.staging up and ready to start moving up. A few warm days on backside of this front and the fish will be biting.

Low 40's - high 30's in deeper and most water under 6 feet will probably have a good layer of ice on it

PK and HC both have been staying around 48-49 so I figure they will be about 44 after this. Low for us predicted for sunday is 7 degrees.

Can’t remember it being this cold for this long since the early 90s. Back in early 90s on Hubbard the water north of 30 on Rowlett side had ice on the surface and the trees that were standing in main lake at Fork were cool looking with big ice balls around and just above water line. I was young and ate up back then. I launched the boat at Fork with temps in teens and had to break through the ice at the ramp. If I recall correctly I caught 4 or 5 over thick hydrilla on Stanley Vibrashafts in birch that day. Lol.

Surface temps will hit mid/upper 30s in the shallows and low 40s on most NTX lakes. Some may even see upper 30s on the main lake and ice in the shallows. Spoon bite may be off the chain out deep if we have shad kill. I doubt we have a major shad like we us to see in the falls early winter on a sharp/early really cold spell. The reason is, I am still finding most of the bait in 30+ and fish locked to the bottom 20 fow and out deeper. They really haven’t started moving yet and the shallow fish I have caught seen to be resident fish.....

Fork has pretty much been in the high 40s most of the winter with the exception of the last couple of weeks. I missed the warmest days during the week and have only seen temps around 54 so far this year. There are always a few that try to get going around full moons in late Jan and early Feb but we don’t have to worry about spawn impacts....spawn should kick off in earnest the next solid warming trend.

To heck with next week. I walked the banks of GV in Poo Creek the other day and there were already big bass and males swimming around finna do their thing....Poo is where it's at. Cannot get back in there with a boat with current water level.

I was in there. There is a good low spot to fly in through the soft mud. Hit the last bend at about 40 mph and trim all the way up while on pad. By the time your prop is completely out of the water, you will be in 4 foot or so. Shouldn't be a problem let for you FX

Woke up this morning
Got yourself a gun....
