I have used seaguar invizx and I do like it but it is somewhat pricey. I was looking at Tackle Warehouse at yo-zuri, stren, red label, sunline super, and vicious. Anyone have experience with any of these fluorocarbons? The reviews at TW are always very mixed. I don't like changing products so I want to find one decent fc and spool all my fluoro reels with it.

I use the vicious. Has worked fine for me. You can 500yd spools from Academy for $20. Tried it to take to Mexico and ended up sticking with it.

Yes Invizx is worth the money but for a few dollars more Sniper is even better.

Been relatively pleased with YoZuri Top Knot.

Sniper is 100% better! worth every penny extra.

How long does sniper last? How many weeks/months of frequent use until it needs to be replaced?
I'm willing to pay extra for good line but I can't afford to replace it every week.

Kind of a loaded question. I put backing on my reels so only about 50-60 yards of fluro. Lasts until I use too much from retying or I get a backlash.

Why?

Not speaking for anyone else but to me Sniper seems to have better sensitivity and is more abrasion resistant. I will say though for 8# on my spinning rod for dropshot Invizx has less memory which is a good thing.

There’s Seaguar, then the “other” brands. Stick with what works.

I've always used BPS XPS 100% Flourocarbon. Has always worked well for me and it is the cheapest out there when buying the mega spools 800yards.

Seguar is pretty much all I have now. Use Invisx for leader material on a spinning rig and 12, 15 and 20 lb on all my baitcasters. Some spool memory but to me it's plenty tough for all my uses.

InvizX is the standard everyone compares to. There are other brands with better (enter property here) but InvizX is very good at everything. It's worth the price.

Also, I think folks go overboard on respooling. If you're a touring pro and a little memory on your line that might take a few feet off your casts or increase your backlash rate may end up costing you a critical bite or two (and you're probably getting that line at discount or free), then yeah respool every tournament. I frequently go through an entire 12 month season with 3 or 4 reels of InvizX that never get respooled. These are usually used for moving lures, bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, squarebills, etc. They absolutely develop some memory, increased chance of backlash until it gets stretched out again, but I really don't think they lose much strength at least that I've been able to tell. I respool when the situation calls for a different line size/type on a specific rod (like my few flipping/jig rods) or when I retie so much that there's not enough line left for a complete cast.

Very surprising to me when people suggest Sunline Sniper. I've used it off and on over the years and its become one of my least favorite lines. I'd rather use Seaguar Red Label than Sniper. My favorite line is Berkley 100% Fluoro professional grade. Best abrasion resistance and its super strong (has a thicker diameter too though).

Thanks I appreciate it. I think I will buy a 200 yd spool of sniper and see how I like it. At least I do have invizx to go back to if I don't care for it.
