El Gato Azul, in his last thread, got me thinkin when he said he and Action Jaxon are gonna be ready for some 2 day trips. I started thinking, what are my big cat destinations?
They are:
1. Guntersville Lake 2. Wheeler Lake 3. James River
We were on Guntersville this last fall and my daughter got broke off by a giant, had to be 80 pounds. She cried, I might have too a little bit...
What say y'all???

Slow troll a 5 to 7 pound carp along the dam at texoma as bait and with the right gear you can catch a 100 pound blue.

Although I doubt that many, if any, will be record breakers, Tawakoni has an abundance of big cats. And if the recent pics coming out of Waco are any indicator, it does too. I'm definitely putting both of them on my list, as spring and fall destinations.

Mississippi River around Memphis.
Tennessee River below Pickwick.

When I first started chasing blue cats a few years ago, I was enamored with Tawakoni. I fished it every weekend. My PB 56 pound blue came from there just north of the 2 mile bridge the day before Thanksgiving 2018. But I never was able to consistently put big fish in the boat. Tawakoni is 39,000 acres. Lavon is only 16,000. Maybe it's easier to fish because it's smaller. Maybe it's because it's closer and I can get out more often. Maybe I've gotten better at it. I don't really know. I'd like to get back out there and try again some time. In the mean time, I am quite happy pulling 20s 30s and 40s with an occasional 50 out of Lavon.
I still like a guide trip once a year or so on Texoma. There are 90s up there for sure and I'd bet 100s too...

What say y'all??? Let me know when you come down. Moving to Huntsville, AL was one of the best things I did. I love fishing the Tennessee River.
Boats are like Strippers. They work until you quit throwing $100 bills at them.

You've never seen me play golf. The world is a safer place with my clubs in the attic.
