Lowrance Pro staff help me with a problem I have encountered with a 20.1 software update on a HDS Live. Went to the lake for a couple hours today to do the update hoping for better quality on down imaging. I have a screen with 3 panels side scan on the left, 2d sonar in the middle and side scan on the right, now since the update 2d sonar will stop for a couple of seconds and start again. What do we do about correcting this problem? I have the same screens with down scan and charts in the middle but they have no problem. Didn't have enough time to see if there were any more problems.

After the update did you check the transducer installation settings? Put a voltage overlay on your sonar screen and monitor for low voltage, What transducer? Are you networked to other units , what units?? Are they updated, Need more detail
thanks

Just the one unit HDS Live 12''. 3 in 1 Active imaging transducer. Have a point one and trolling motor (motor guide) connected. I did not check anything else. Was working before the update.

I would backup all user data and system settings to an SD card, remove all SD cards, then do a hard reset. In every mystery case with Lowrance support I've had, it always ended up getting to that point, so now I'm inclined to just try it first. I realize not all cases are this way, but the weird unexplained ones often do.

Next Step as Flippin out says do a hard reset, Make sure you back up your waypoints do the hard reset then Import your Waypoints and you will have to reset up overlays. Never back up your overlays and settings when fixing a problem and doing so will reintroduce the problem you just got rid of. If you have never done a hard reset instead you can go to Pages/Settings/Factory reset or Default and you can check the waypoints routes and trails and it won't delete them but will reset everything else. This is just as effective as a Hard Reset in 99% of the cases. Let us know how its working
