I have a real Canyon lake report, not the fake one from last week. I didn't see any 16 pound fish, but I did manage to catch one decent small mouth (my first ever in Texas) and one dinky smallmouth. No one else caught anything that I saw, either from boats or from shore. I had to paddle for maybe an hour to get to the spot where I caught the good fish, it was around a pound or so and fought really well. I couldn't believe how clear the water is in the lake, it's amazing for Texas. Water temp was about 58 degrees at 10 or 11 am. I also went to the little trail under the dam that follows the river and didn't see a single trout. I thought they've been stocking it continuously for months? It looked perfect for trout but all I caught was a rock that stole my favorite spinner.
