Hi all,
Strange question and I think I already know the answer.
Can an individual purchase speckled trout caught in the gulf here in Texas?
I'm heading to Surfside in June and would like to get some trout. I won't have access to being able to catch trout (no boat) but want to get my hands on some fish to take to a restaurant to have them prepare for my family. Any suggestions?

Nope on Trout.
Or redfish.
You can still buy flounder, drum, whiting, croaker.

Boyd's One Stop Bait/Tackle at the base of the TC DIKE has been know to sell them. In order to sell these game fish, the owner has to purchase a special permit. They bought these fish from Mexico and hopefully caught in their waters. From what I saw, the fish appeared to be around a while. This was some years back.
