Watched it last night and there was no nudity. It’s centered around the world of Influencers...what they do, how it works...etc. It appears that just like bitcoin, the whole influencer thing is a scam. But unlike bitcoin, the influencer world significantly over-indexes on ghey. (As an aside, the number 1 thing kids today say they want to be when they grow up is a famous influencer.)

The documentary took three semi-average yutes and set out make them big, but fake, important influencers. Apparently you can buy packs of bots (7,500 was $120) to generate fake “Likes” and “Comments”. At one point, one of the influencers got famous enough to start attracting big companies. This worried the doc maker because big companies (Fortune 500) will pay huge fees to a service that will investigate influencers, and look for fake likes and comments.

The doc maker paid the service to investigate his fake influencer, to see what they would find out. The investigation produced a report showing that his fake influencer was 100% legit. So not only are the influencers a scam...but the companies that take huge fees to ferret out fake influencers are running a scam too.

It was educational and not a complete waste of time. I give the doc 3.5 flopping slabs about to be cleaned by Mudshark.

Yep, according to the documentary, you are spot-on...and Google and...all that Silicon Valley stuff. It’s why nobody will call out the scamming in a big way...because everything will collapse. It appears there is a YUGE fake bubble over ‘Merica!

Some of the values of 21st Century capitalism are potentially dangerous; but I have far greater concerns regarding the alternative economic systems.

That is sad.

I hope she is saving up some of that money in case she says the wrong thing and gets cancelled.
