Is fishing tough for me. Been three times in the last week and have not located the pattern that unlocks the secret of this lake. Talked to a guy that came down from Glen Rose for three days and the only thing I could tell him is what not to try. For those of you coming expecting to slay them good luck to you but it is tough for us average fishermen. Good thing is that since duck hunting is over the parking lot has only half the vehicles in it so the walk is not as bad.

I am taking the Kayak down the 19th and tent camping at the state park. How is the water level of the lake? I have never been on choke so I am just plan on hitting the water and see what happens? Did you launch at the 99 bridge?

Yep, been saying that but nobody believes it. If you aren’t “in the know”, you will catch 3-6 bass per day. Better results, if someone will share the secrets with you, but they aren’t talking.

And for you guys wanting to put on tournaments, the state just made new guidelines. It’s going to screw up many tournaments.

I don’t have a link, I suspect if you call the Calliham office at Choke, they can direct you to a man named Diego that’s in charge of this. I saw it posted on Three C’s bass club page, another club called Lunker Hunters was informed last weekend at Choke and the guy running our high school club confirmed it to me this morning.

Something about 90 day advance permits, no more than 35 boats, no money taken or exchanged on state property, no banners or tents, no food allowed to be given out, special weigh in spot and no group congregation .

How is there not a thread about this already or is this just Choke?

I have no clue, first I heard about it was last night. First the bass club heard about it was Sunday. Most of these clubs have less than 35 boats, so they might not care.

If you launch at Calliham make dang sure you don’t honk at the turkeys when they are crossing the road the game warden gets pissed and checks your boat for everything and takes his time and will keep you at the ramp for an hour. Don’t ask how I know this LOL! The dude needs to get out more.

I’ll side with the game warden on that one. Feel free to not come back, don’t want the wildlife to be in your way.

This shouldn't be a huge problem. All they have to do is have weigh in off site. This will mean they will need the equipment to hold and release the fish. Fed impoundments did this for years, and had large tournaments.

I don’t see this hurting bass clubs, as much as it does larger series, like the TTT, TTZ, BassChamps. I don’t see a work around if it’s a max 35 boats.

I wish our tournaments would go to Venmo. Pay entry from your phone, confirms registration, receive payout back into Venmo account. No need for correct change or meeting up in some particular place to pay entry fees.
