Got out to NM yesterday for a little crappie action. Got on the water around 7:15. It was really foggy so I put the lights on. Had to idle to my first spot as sight was very limited. Caught a couple there then moved on after about an hour or so. Fish were not near as aggressive as they were Thursday. Saw plenty of fish but they just weren’t very cooperative. Fog finally lifted enough to brave crossing the lake on pad. Spent the rest of the day on the south side. Fish finally turned on around 1:00. Most were on black and chartreuse with 1/4 oz. unpainted jig head. The 3 big fish came on a 1/8th oz. hand tie. Depth was anywhere fron 16-22’. Water temp was 50 degrees.Brush produced the 3 largest fish as it did on Thursday. Thursday I had a 1.98 and 1.92. Yesterday’s biggest was 1.56 and 14.25”. Had big blacknose crappies both days.13 and 13.5”. Biggest one for me by far. Caught one big sandbass mixed in with some crappie on some stake beds. Brought 21 home and threw back about 15 10-11” fish. The bigger fish have some really large shad in them. The one in the picture was 4” and I found a 5.25” one in the big fish I cleaned this morning. Fishing is great right now if you can stand the rain and cold! Y’all go get ya’ some!

Outstanding. I have fished NM a few times. Always had a good time but didn't always catch fish. Looks like some of those fish might have eggs in them.
