It looks as if my next purchase just might be a Chevy. If you establish a relationship with an adviser or two, it helps on being taken care of much better. You shouldn't have to do that, though. My SUV is in the shop now, as a matter of fact. We've had problem after problem with our 2020 Explorer ST. After my experience with GV Ford new car sales staff....I can honestly say that I will never, ever buy from them again.

Been buying my vehicles at Moritz since Monty Coon started working there 20 years ago. While they are more expensive most of the time on repairs, their oil change and tire rotation is less than $70, and that's a 3/4 ton truck. Moritz has a deal on select used vehicles that as long as you have the vehicle maintained per the manufactures recommendations they will warrant the engine and drive train for the life of the vehicle. And this is free, you don't have to pay for it. They replaced my transmission after 180,000 for free so it works. You don't have to have the service done there, just make sure and keep up with the records of the service. They did wreck my truck one time by backing it into a pole, but they fixed it for free and gave me a loaner.

Mom-n-Pop mechanics are great, if you can find a good one. And I found a GREAT one.
I did. and I would only go to the Dealer for warranty work.
Last truck I bought was GMC, and I never had a warranty issue. In fact ... 140,000 miles and I've never had an issue.
Truck before that was a Ford 150. Brakes went out at 300 miles, two torque converters, and one transmission under warranty.
I've owned em all. Ford GM and Dodge. Never again in a Ford.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

I had great service when I was using Payton Wright Ford in Grapevine back when they were still family owned. I used the same service writer and was on first name basis with service manager. Eventually the service writer I used became manager and the service manager became GM. It all went downhill when I ordered a new F150 that went on hold twice and my sales dude did not keep me updated. When I talked to the GM he defended his sales dude. I said fine cancel order. I went elsewhere and had my truck in days. In the end it turned out for the best because I got color I wanted but wife was disappointed.

I had a 2000 F150 and the transmission went out at 26/K miles. Covered under warrantee but still! They told me I should not tow with the truck. This was at the same time their commercials were touting the F150 had the highest towing capacity in the "class". Four years later it was totaled when I got T-boned by a lady running a red light. Bought my first Tundra and am now on my third one. No Ford for me again.
Prior to my F150 I had a 1996 Ford Ranger. Transmission went out on that about 80/K. I should have seen the writing on the wall and not bought another Ford. But I was towing a boat on the high end of the tow capacity of the Ranger so I assumed that was the problem. I had an aluminum boat and moved up to a BassCat Pantera II so I think that was at least part of the problem.

Towed my 18' Ranger fine. At a little over 35k I changed the tranny fluid and filter. Good thing I did. There was a ground up washer and some pieces of gears on the pan magnet. I put them in a baggie and went to the dealer. They said to make sure I did not go over 36k because parts were a month out. I said I brought it in under warranty and you have it documented. I am glad that I was religious about changing tranny fluid on my Fords.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! One dealership did $1400 worth of work to my motor and told me there would be a two year warranty. 2 months later oil is coming out of my valve covers. Same Ford dealership said, "We don't know what you've done to your truck in the last 2 months so we will not warranty. I took it to another Ford dealership. They said that isn't right and fixed everything. Driving away from that dealership the oil pressure warning starts beeping. Take it to a third Ford Dealership where is has sat for three day and no one has even looked at it.
Chevrolet here I come! NEVER AGAIN will I buy a FORD!
News Flash: Chevy dealers stuck too.

Blew my turbo on my rv two days before out of 5 year warranty. No issues w ford they covered the tow and everything.
Took my raptor in the week itโs warranty was ending and they fixed two leaking fox shocks and replaced a front 4x4 hub. no issue. Different dealer than the Rv.
Never been to any other ford dealers for any thing. But when I managed The parts dept for one in 1997 we checked out every under warranty rig when it came in for anything and gladly fixed anything we could find. All of that repair work is billable to ford.

most of yall are talking about diesel trucks. all of them have issues sooner or later and expensive. If you dont use one for work then know its going to cost you. I have owned 4-5 and had to have them. When I changed jobs I got rid of it. Fuel injectors burning up and fuel pumps, expensive service. it is what it is. They are complicated machines.

Between my own Ford F 150 and company vehicles that I have taken to Branson Ford in Corsicana, strangely, they always add another diagnosis. They try to convince me that their are metal shavings running thru my engine and want to charge me a 3500.00 fix. Gotta distrust somebody when that happens repeatedly.
