Anyone used East Texas Outboard Rebuild by Cedar Creek to rebuild their engine? Looking to get my 225 HPDI rebuilt and want to make sure and use the right shop for the job.

The people I know that have used them really had good experiences. I think they offer a pretty good warranty too.

They rebuilt a 2008 hpdi 250 for me about 3 years ago. Best price on a rebuild I could find. Sent me pics of the tear down and kept me in the loop. Only put 2 hours on the rebuild before I sold the boat so I can’t say if it held up but my experience dealing with them was great.

Had my Yamaha rebuilt there a little over a year ago. They have a 2 year warranty. 1st year is 100% covered, 2nd year is 50%. It didn't even sound like the same motor when they were done with it. They do the first few hours of break-in for you there. I would definitely recommend them. I haven't had any issues with my motor and it runs so smooth now.

These guys know what they’re doing. They diagnosed and fixed an overheat issue for me on a modified Merc 250 that others couldn’t. I would highly recommend them.
LET’S GO BRANDON!!!

I had my 2007 HPDI 225 (490 hrs) rebuilt there the week after thanksgiving. I have about 13 hrs on it (5 were additional break-in hrs), so it is hard to give a long term assessment. That said, the reviews were good, and they were nice to work with. I had considered Hydrotech & Chris Carson, but I am glad I was able to drop the boat off and let them work on it as a package - they cleaned up the fuel system, wires, the lower unit, ran an engine NEMA cable for me, etc. I also had them install carbon fiber reeds while they were in there.
