I’ve been out of the electronics game for a bit. I have a buddy getting a new boat and doing a little research.
It’s going to a ram mount situation off gunwale
No more that 8” needed
It will need very good charts for back water shallow stuff.

It will be in Brazos/coastal flats and some lake fishing.
Any good suggestions out there?

I’m real familiar with older helix and Lowrance elites, but checking to see if there is better options
Thanks in advance

Look at the HDS Live units they rebates until March 31. if you want to add radar of VHF, Weather module the HDS live has best screen resolution and is an expandable platform that allows adding on new technology as you go. There is also a new unit that took the place of the Elite Ti called Elite FS which will also work with the new Active Target Live Sonar. Bass Pro, Cabelas, or any Lowrance dealers you can go look at the units and see them running. if you have questions on any Lowrance models feel free to ask.
