I have had the great fortune of having lots of grandchildren. Nine of them to be exact. Today I had a couple hours to get out. I asked one of my granddaughters who had not been one of the avid fishermen to go out with me. She had her school work done for the day so she said yes. The wind was up hard this afternoon so my plan was to go back in the trees behind the marina and see if the sun on the water had the channel cats fired up. They did not disappoint. I didn't even have the last rod baited before the bites started coming. She had a double in the boat before I had the last rod in the water. We boated some channels some small blues and even a nice little largemouth before we had to head home. The fast action has her hooked. I keep hoping my grand kids can visit us this summer. I would love to take the oldest two out on the Tennessee River for some slime time.
